I haven't been very busy with my sewing for the last few months. Mostly moving, working two jobs, and dealing with personal stuff. I needed an excuse to get back into the sewing game.
In steps a new quilt along from Melissa based on her Startburst pattern. I've done a couple QAL with her before (Tetris and STARS) so when she presented this pattern and noted that she was planning a quilt along to go with it, I figured it was time to get my stuff together and get sewing!
I have enough quilts around, so I asked my buddy Scootie to pick out some fabrics from my stash. He picked out some cute fall colored prints from the maple skys collection at connecting threads. They are perfect for this quilt! I paired it with some Kona Bone for my background and started cutting.
I first wanted to do the medium (32") block with the fabrics. I then decided to use the 24" blocks but to make 9 of them for a 3x3 layout. This resulted in having to cut out a zillion pieces, which is always fun. However, as you can see, they are all cut out and ready to rumble.
